Dannete De Cannett L.AC

Danette De Cannett, L.AC. has been involved in the healing profession for almost twenty years now. From 1988 to 1992, while gaining experience on a surgical floor at the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital, as well as social work experience from a local retirement community/nursing home, she earned a Bachelor of Health Science from the University of Missouri- Colombia.
As a result of research done in her last year at the University, Danette began working in Public Health with California Health Decisions, a grassroots organization dedicated to educating the public as well as compiling data for health policy on the state level.
That year the National Institute of Health created the department for research of alternative medicine and realizing the limitations of truly making a difference at this level, Danette decided to gain knowledge and experience in alternative modalities of medicine as well. This interest eventually led to four years dedicated to the study of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. During this time, in addition to her academic studies, she had an opportunity to study with a shaman healer who was a Doctor of Oriental Medicine as well as a classical Homeopath.
Danette is licensed in the states of California and Arizona to practice acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. In December of 1999, Danette received a four-year Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from Yo San University in Santa Monica, California. Danette's clinical experience, in addition to the Yo San University Clinic, included a community Women's Health Center and an Addiction Recovery Program. She was in private practice for four years in Los Angeles before moving to the Phoenix area, and additionally had the opportunity to work for two years in a pain clinic, as well as one year in a women's health clinic specializing in fertility.
Danette has had additional training in various acupuncture and other techniques. These include extensive training with Dr Tan's Balance Method, Dr Huang's auricular, NAET (an allergy elimination technique), and other energetic approaches such as Reiki and Qi Gong.
Danette's philosophy has long been to seek out a personal balance in her life, giving attention to all areas physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Fortunately she happened upon this medicine early on in life as the philosophy and approach parallel this ideal. Healing is second nature to her — "Its just something I do naturally as it is a part of who I am."
